APPROVAL OF THE CHARTER BETWEEN SARASOTA ACADEMY OF THE ARTS AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDA
Description
The charter application for Sarasota Academy of the Arts was approved by the School Board of Sarasota County at the October 16, 2012 meeting. Pursuant to Florida Statute 1002.33, representatives from Sarasota Academy of the Arts and school district staff have negotiated a charter to serve as the agreement between the organizations. Sarasota Academy of the Arts is scheduled to open in August 2013 as a grade K-8 school. The negotiated charter is now complete and ready for Board consideration and approval.
Recommendation
That the charter between Sarasota Academy of the Arts and the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida be approved as presented.
